A/c to be developed with prototype fitment of DDT Spray apparatus at 1AD.19/02/45 Rec 9CU (Communications Unit) ex 1AD. 1110hrs 26/02/45 accident when taking off on an authorised travel flight, when a/c swung to port after covering 250-300yards. Swing was corrected and straightened up in about 50 yards on a track some 10 feet to port of original track. After another 50 yards the a/c swung to starboard about 35 º's and travelled about 150-200yards practically straight when it commenced turning to port and the starboard wheel collapsed. After this swing to starboard the a/c started to drift to port and crossed a small trench about a foot deep, whereupon the a/c ground looped to port.
